Hello !
On behalf of the staff of our school, I would like to warmly welcome you to our school homepage. Since being founded as the first science gifted high school in Korea in 1983, our school has done its best to foster able future scientists to lead in the 21st century.
As a result we have made great achievements. As for example, about 300 people out of 1859 graduates have obtained doctorate degrees. They are working as leading professors and researchers in 17 different prestigious colleges and research centers. We are also proud that some people who have contributed to developing artificial satellites: Uribyul 1,2, 3; and Samsung semi conductor memory chips are our graduates.
As you know, science technology has enabled human beings to live more fruitfully, and its development is speeding up. Looking around ourselves for a moment proves it. Computers which were cherished by only a few are becoming everyone's necessities and the technology of it is beyond our expectations. Through things like this, science is enriching our lives and exists everywhere. However we shouldn't forget that our abundance is greatly indebted to the people working in their cramped research labs. In order to take a worthwhile course without recognition, we need not merely simple knowledge but also responsibility and ethics as a true scientist.
Our school has a sense of responsibility to bring up capable scientists, who are also well equipped human beings. We are recently designated as a new system of science high school by the Ministry of Education after a fierce competition. Now we are aiming high with the new system. To achieve our vision we set several goals
Running a curriculum to enhance creativity
Fostering leadership and appropriate character as a scientist
Establishing a system of selecting teaching staff
Career consulting through networking with universities domestic and abroad
Setting up human resources infrastructure aiming to be the Mecca of advanced science education for the gifted
Equipping the administration system for the education of globally competitive science students
We promise to try our best to achieve our goal, "We Foster Gifted Globalized Science Students Who will Give Hope to the World", based on our know-how we have accumulated so far as the fist science high school in Korea.
